"Les Forges de Clabecq" are old steelworks closed down in 1992. This site is very dangerous and its old blast furnace is a famous landmark for industrial architecture lovers.
We strongly advise not to step into this factory, for several reasons. First, it is really dangerous to walk around in these old abandoned buildings. Moreover, this site is inside an active factory owned and still operated by Duferco.
Waiting for an eventual demolition, the ironworks sleep under coal dust and rust.
I visited the buildinig yesterday 13/10/2012,
seems like new constructions are beiing made now
or they are demolishing it. I saw new cars
and working equipment, no more old steel and buidlings...
to bad seems like such a beautifull place before
I absolutely love these images.... especially the button console for some reason. I wish we had abandoned industry like
this in Australia. Great work!
i dont' like the belgium , but this factory is amazing
Thanks for having this posted. My father worked here for two years between 1947 & 1949. He was from Treviso, Italy & had some friends he knew that were also working there. I can see that the italians had a long history at these mills. I would like to find photos of the plant operating not long after WW2. if you know of anything it would be nice to know.
You had my dream on Fotos!!!!!!!!
Can we still go to see these Steelwork Industrie?
great photos as always. particulalry like the dusty button console for some reason. technology always seems so clean---something fascinating about seeing it broken down and dirty
very good! Especially the nightpictures with the snow, beautifull
I enjoyed it very much, as I always do!
I'll put them back soon, don't worry!
sooo... where are your photos?
