Welcome back to Leuven! This city has definitely a lot to offer with its famous industrial past in terms of urban exploration...
We are in the ancient Stella-Artois malthouse. See also the Stella-Artois brewery, abandoned too, located nearby.
A nice urban exploration of a huge site, surrounded by immense empty silos, endless dark corridors for the malt to germinate.
It is close to "de vaart" You can see the silo's from the Maria Artois-square.
Is this building of Stella located near the Vaart? Is this one of all those abandoned industry buildings, or is this located somewhere in the city?
Been there today! Lots of stairs but definitly worth the climbing. Some of the old equipment is still there (there is even some barley left in the chutes. Be sure to bring the usual flashlight because it's pretty dark once you are inside. There are no windows on the middle floors and some holes in the ceiling/floor. great vieuw of Leuven once you're up and a nice place for a picknick!
They are still here, but if you want to go in, you'll have to get in trough a small window on the side of the building. All the doors are locked, but is is def worth it! It's a must see!
